The results of a quantitative analysis have shown that in the general hypoxia of the organism the number and sizes of mitochondria in the myocardium of all groups of the animals under investigation increase drastically, whereas the number of cristae in them decreases sharply from the first day. The chromosome set in the 14th, 25th, 16th filial generations of the lac insects of Viet-Namese and Chinese provenance and naturalized on the Black Sea cost of Georgia has been studied. When compared with the chromosome set in lac insects of Indian origin, no decline in quantity, size or structure was observed.
