The reactions of the formation of arsenites and thioarsenites have been studied in the Na<sub>3</sub>AsO<sub>3</sub> – MeCl<sub>3</sub> - H<sub>2</sub>O and Li<sub>3</sub>AsS<sub>3</sub> – MeCl<sub>3</sub> – H<sub>2</sub>O systems, where Me is a rare-earth element.

With BaF<sub>2</sub>–FeF<sub>2</sub> two compounds have been obtained, Ba<sub>2</sub>FeF<sub>6</sub> and BaFeF<sub>4</sub>. The former undergoes incongruent melting (m.p. 775°C), the latter congruent melting (m.p. 755°C).
