On the basis of the Tbilisi catalogue data of geomagnetic storms, using the technique of the null hypothesis estimation, the following is shown: the probability of the frequency of occurrence of recurrent storms of gradual and of sudden commencement being the same is small (0,1%), i. e., it is possible to assert, with the probability as high as 99,9%, that recurrence is the characteristic feature of storms with gradual commencement.
