The latter wrote her thesis during her postgraduate course in Georgia (1978). It was the first thesis in German dealing with Georgian literature, entitled Konstantine Gamsakhurdia und die Romane seiner ersten Schaffensperiode. The author discusses the period of Gamsakhurdia's studies at German universities and the influence of those years on his novels The Smile of Dionysus and The Rape of the Moon.
