The key directions of the project are: harmonization of customs documents, ensuring the cooperation of the customs management and goods forwarders of the entire region, computerization of the system to gather statistical data, setting up trade and forwarders associations and assisting them, study of the principal customs zones and checkpoints within and outside the region, analysis of common and specific problems for all countries, provision of the customs service with up-to-date control and programme equipment, and so on.
