ა) კომპეტენციის ფარგლებში, ახორციელებს საქართველოს სახელმწიფო საზღვარზე, სასაზღვრო ზოლში, სასაზღვრო ზონასა და საქართველოს საზღვაო სივრცეში ბირთვული და სხვა რადიოაქტიური მასალების არალეგალური მიმოქცევის პრევენციას, გამოვლენასა და აღკვეთას.
a) carry out the prevention, detection and suppression of illegal trafficking of nuclear and other radioactive materials on the state border of Georgia, in the border strip, the border zone and in the maritime space of Georgia.

ბ) მონაწილეობს ბირთვული ან რადიოლოგიური საგანგებო სიტუაციის შედეგების სალიკვიდაციო და სამაშველო ღონისძიებებში სასაზღვრო ზოლში, სასაზღვრო ზონაში, საქართველოს საზღვაო სივრცესა და განსაკუთრებულ შემთხვევებში – საქართველოს მთელ ტერიტორიაზე.
b) participate in liquidation and rescue measures to eliminate the consequences of a nuclear or radiological emergency in the border strip, border zone, maritime space of Georgia and, in special cases, throughout the territory of Georgia.

საქართველოს შინაგან საქმეთა სამინისტროს საექსპერტო-კრიმინალისტიკური დეპარტამენტი ახორციელებს ბირთვული და სხვა რადიოაქტიური მასალების საექსპერტო და სპეციალურ გამოკვლევებს, ასევე ბირთვული ან რადიოლოგიური ინციდენტების დროს, მოთხოვნის შემთხვევაში, ინციდენტის ადგილის შესწავლას, გამოსაკვლევი ობიექტების ამოღებასა და მის შემდგომ კვლევას.
The Forensic-Criminalistic Department (FCD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia shall conduct expert and special examinations of nuclear and other radioactive materials, as well as, in the case of nuclear or radiological incidents, an examination of the accident site, the removal of objects for examination and their subsequent investigation, if requested.

a) organisation, development and provision of constant readiness of fire and rescue units for immediate response to a nuclear or radiological incident/emergency.

გ) კომპეტენციის ფარგლებში, ბირთვულ ან რადიოლოგიურ საგანგებო სიტუაციებთან დაკავშირებით ინფორმაციის საჯაროობის, გამჭვირვალობის, თავისუფალი ხელმისაწვდომობისა და გავრცელების უზრუნველყოფა, გარდა საქართველოს კანონმდებლობით გათვალისწინებული შეზღუდვებისა.
c) ensuring, within its competence, publicity, transparency, free access and dissemination of information on nuclear or radiological emergencies, with the exception of restrictions provided for by the legislation of Georgia.

d) participation in the development of educational programmes, communication plans and other relevant measures to raise public awareness of a nuclear or radiological emergency.

e) transport, within its competence, radioactive waste or sources of radioactive contamination resulting from a nuclear or radiological accident, in accordance with the requirements of nuclear safety and security.
