The civil registry office receiving the application of the persons who are to get married, shall be obliged to inform them of the conditions and procedure for marriage, as well as clarify for them the rights and obligations of spouses, envisaged by the present Code, and that they shall be held responsible for the concealment of matrimonial impediments.

დაქორწინება არ დაიშვება: ა) იმ პირთა შორის, რომელთაგან თუნდაც ერთი დაქორწინებულია სხვასთან; ბ) პირდაპირ აღმავალი ან დამავალი შტოს ნათესავებს შორის; გ) ღვიძლ და აგრეთვე არაღვიძლ და-ძმას შორის; დ) მშვილებელსა და ნაშვილებს შორის; ე) იმ პირებს შორის,რომელთაგან თუნდაც ერთი სულით ავადმყოფობის ან ჭკუასუსტობის გამო სასამართლოს მიერ ცნობილია ქმედუუნაროდ.
Marriage shall be inadmissible between: a) the persons, at least one of which is married to another person; b) the relatives in a direct ascending or descending line; c) full brothers and sisters, as well as between non-full brothers and sisters; d) an adoptive parent and an adoptee; and e) the persons, at least one of which is found legally incapable by a court of law on the grounds of insanity or imbecility.
