ეროვნული მნიშვნელობის ბირთვული ან რადიოლოგიური საგანგებო სიტუაციების შემთხვევაში, სამინისტროს უფლებამოსილი პირი მონაწილეობს საქართველოს შინაგან საქმეთა სამინისტროს ან საქართველოს შინაგან საქმეთა მინისტრის წარდგინების საფუძველზე, საქართველოს პრემიერ- მინისტრის გადაწყვეტილებით შექმნილი უწყებათშორისი ოპერატიული ცენტრის საქმიანობაში, რომელიც ოპერაციულ დონეზე ორგანიზებასა და კოორდინაციას უწევს მოსალოდნელ ან არსებულ ბირთვულ ან რადიოლოგიურ საგანგებო სიტუაციაზე რეაგირებას.
In the event of a nuclear or radiological emergency of national importance, an authorised person of the Ministry shall participate in the activities of an Interagency Operational Centre established by a decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia on the basis of a report by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia or the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, who organises and coordinates actions to respond to an expected or existing nuclear or radiological emergency at the operational level.

ადგილობრივი მნიშვნელობის ბირთვული ან რადიოლოგიური საგანგებო სიტუაციების დროს სამინისტროს საგანგებო შტაბი, აჭარისა და აფხაზეთის ავტონომიური რესპუბლიკების მთავრობებთან, მუნიციპალიტეტის ორგანოებთან, აგრეთვე სახელმწიფო რწმუნებულთან კოორდინირებით ახორციელებს უსაფრთხოების უზრუნველყოფის მართვას.
In the event of a nuclear or radiological emergency of local importance, the Ministry’s Emergency Management Department shall, in coordination with the Governments of the Autonomous Republics of Ajara and Abkhazia, municipal authorities, as well as the governors, ensure security.

In the event of a nuclear or radiological emergency of national importance, the Ministry shall submit to the Prime Minister of Georgia a report on the measures taken and the current situation.

საჯარო სამართლის იურიდიული პირი − ბირთვული და რადიაციული უსაფრთხოების სააგენტო, როგორც რადიაციული დაცვის, ბირთვული უსაფრთხოებისა და დაცულობის სახელმწიფო რეგულირების განმახორციელებელი ორგანო (შემდგომში − მარეგულირებელი ორგანო):
The Agency of Nuclear and Radiation Safety, a legal entity of public law, as a body carrying out state regulation in the field of radiation protection, nuclear safety and security (hereinafter - the Regulatory Authority) shall:

ა) შეიმუშავებს ამ ტექნიკური რეგლამენტით რეგულირებულ სფეროში რადიაციული დაცვისა და ბირთვული უსაფრთხოების ნორმებსა და მოთხოვნებს.
a) develop standards and requirements for radiation protection and nuclear safety in the field regulated by this Technical Regulation.

ბ) ახორციელებს ავტორიზაციის მფლობელი ფიზიკური და იურიდიული პირების ბირთვულ ან რადიოლოგიურ საგანგებო სიტუაციაზე რეაგირების გეგმების საქართველოს კანონმდებლობასთან შესაბამისობის დადგენის პერიოდულ კონტროლს, დიფერენცირებული მიდგომის გათვალისწინებით.
b) carry out periodic monitoring of compliance of nuclear or radiological emergency response plans of authorised individuals and legal entities with the legislation of Georgia, taking into account a differentiated approach.

გ) ახორციელებს მოსახლეობის, ავტორიზაციის მფლობელი ფიზიკური და იურიდიული პირების პერსონალისა და პაციენტების ცნობიერების ასამაღლებელ ღონისძიებებს.
c) conduct awareness-raising activities among the population, staff of authorised individuals and legal entities and patients.

დ) ახორციელებს ბირთვული და სხვა რადიოაქტიური მასალების არალეგალური მიმოქცევის ფაქტებზე რეაგირებას, შემთხვევის ადგილის რადიოლოგიურ მონიტორინგსა და ნივთიერი მტკიცებულების პირველად რადიოლოგიურ შემოწმებას.
d) respond to incidents of illicit trafficking in nuclear and other radioactive materials, conduct radiological monitoring of the incident site and primary radiological examination of physical evidence.

ე) ახორციელებს სასაზღვრო-გამშვებ პუნქტებზე, საბაჟო და სატრანსპორტო ტერმინალებზე რადიაციული განგაშის შემთხვევებზე რეაგირებასა და პირველად რეაგირებაში მონაწილე უწყებების მოქმედებების კოორდინაციას, კომპეტენციის ფარგლებში.
e) coordinate the actions of agencies involved in responding to radiation alarms at border posts, customs and transport terminals, as well as in carrying out initial activities within its competence.

ვ) ქვეყნის მასშტაბით ახორციელებს ბუნებრივი რადიაციული ფონის რეგულარულ მონიტორინგს, (დანართი №6 – „რადიაციული მონიტორინგის ავტომატური სადგურების განთავსება საქართველოს ტერიტორიაზე“) რადიაციული მონიტორინგის ავტომატური სადგურების მეშვეობით.
f) carry out regular monitoring of the natural radiation background throughout the country (Annex №6 “Location of Automated Radiation Monitoring Stations on the Territory of Georgia”) through automated radiation monitoring stations.

ზ) ეროვნული მნიშვნელობის ბირთვული ან რადიოლოგიური საგანგებო სიტუაციის დროს უწყებათაშორის ოპერატიულ ცენტრს აწვდის ინფორმაციას ქვეყნის მასშტაბით ბუნებრივი რადიაციული ფონის შესახებ.
g) in the event of a nuclear or radiological emergency of national importance, provide the Interagency Operational Centre with information on the natural radiation background throughout the country.

თ) ახორციელებს ბირთვული ან რადიოლოგიური საგანგებო სიტუაციის კერის რადიოლოგიურ შეფასებას, რეაგირებაში მონაწილე უწყებების მოქმედებების კოორდინაციასა და შესაბამისი რეკომენდაციების მომზადებას, კომპეტენციის ფარგლებში.
h) conduct a radiological assessment of the nuclear or radiological emergency site, coordinate the actions of the agencies involved in the response, and prepare appropriate recommendations within its competence.

ი) უზრუნველყოფს დღე-ღამის განმავლობაში ბირთვულ ან რადიოლოგიურ საგანგებო სიტუაციასთან დაკავშირებით შეტყობინების შეუფერხებელ მიღებას.
i) ensure round-the-clock uninterrupted receipt of notifications of a nuclear or radiological emergency.

კ) კომპეტენციის ფარგლებში, უზრუნველყოფს ადამიანური და ტექნიკური რესურსების ოპერატიულ მობილიზებას.
j) ensure, within its competence, the rapid mobilization of human and technical resources.

ლ) ბირთვული ან რადიოლოგიური საგანგებო სიტუაციის ადგილზე ახორციელებს რადიოლოგიური მდგომარეობის შეფასებასა და, საჭიროების შემთხვევაში, იღებს გადაწყვეტილებას უსაფრთხო, გადაუდებელი დაცვითი ღონისძიებების დაგეგმვისა და გამაფრთხილებელი ღონისძიებების ზონების საზღვრების დადგენისა და შეცვლის შესახებ.
k) assess the radiological situation at the site of a nuclear or radiological accident and, if necessary, decide on the planning of safe, urgent protective actions, as well as on the establishment and modification of the boundaries of the precautionary action zone.

მ) კომპეტენციის ფარგლებში, ახორციელებს რეაგირებაში მონაწილე უწყებების მოქმედებების კოორდინაციასა და შესაბამისი რეკომენდაციების მომზადებას.
l) coordinate, within its competence, the actions of the agencies involved in the response and prepare appropriate recommendations.

ნ) შეიმუშავებს ბირთვული ან რადიოლოგიური საგანგებო სიტუაციის შედეგად წარმოქმნილი რადიოაქტიური ნარჩენების ან რადიოაქტიური წყაროს ტრანსპორტირებისათვის რადიაციული დაცვის, ბირთვული უსაფრთხოებისა და დაცულობის ზომებს და ახორციელებს ტრანსპორტირებას.
m) develop radiation protection, nuclear safety and security measures for the transportation of radioactive waste or radioactive sources generated as a result of a nuclear or radiological accident, and carry out their transportation.

ო) კომპეტენციის ფარგლებში, ახორციელებს რადიოაქტიურად დაბინძურებული ტერიტორიების, საგნებისა და მოსახლეობის დეკონტამინაციას.
n) carry out the decontamination of radioactively contaminated territories, objects and the population within its competence.
