მკაცრი მოთხოვნები ფთიზიატრიული საავადმყოფოების ჩამდინარე წყლების გაწმენდასა და გაუსნებოვნებაზე განპირობებულია ტუბერკულოზის მიკობაქტერიების მოთესვიანობის მაღალი ხარისხით (105-106 რაოდენობა/ლიტრში თხიერ ფაზაში და 108 რაოდენობა/გრამში მყარ ფაზაში), მდგრადობით გარემოში, მათ შორის გაუსნებოვნების საშუალებების მიმართ, მაღალი სიცოცხლისუნარიანობით წყალში (ნახევარ წლამდე და მეტი) და სხვა.
Strict requirements applied to the purification and decontamination of wastewaters produced by phtisiatric hospitals are due to high capability of bacterial contamination (105-106 quantity/per litre in liquid phase and 108 quantity/per gram in solid phase) characteristic of mycobacteria tuberculosis, their high bacterial resistance in the environment, including resistance to decontaminating agents, their high survivability in water (up to six months and more), etc.

Recommended for purification of wastewaters produced by phtisiatric hospitals situated in inhabited localities without sewage system shall be two-stage biological purification with decontamination of used waters after the first stage.

1. იმ გარემოების გათვალისწინებით, რომ სომატური საავადმყოფოების ჩამდინარე წყლების ინფექციური საშიშროება არ აღემატება დასახლებული პუნქტების საყოფაცხოვრებო-ფეკალური ჩამდინარე წყლების ინფექციური საშიშროების დონეს, დასაშვებია მათი ჩაშვება საკანალიზაციო ქსელში, წინასწარი გაწმენდისა და გაუსნებოვნების გარეშე.
1. Taking into consideration the fact that the infectious danger posed by wastewaters of somatic hospitals does not exceed the level of infectious danger posed by domestic faecal wastewaters of inhabited localities, they may be discharged into sewage network without preliminary purification and decontamination.

In case if a somatic hospital has an infectious department, its used waters may be discharged into the purification plant of the hospital concerned only after they have undergone decontamination immediately in the department.
