The class of radioactive waste may be changed by an operator after notification to the Regulatory Authority, taking into account changes in the characteristics of radioactive waste.

The requirements for the safety system for radioactive waste of classes W1, W2 and W3 shall be defined in accordance with Annex №3 to this Ordinance – „Requirements for the Nuclear Protection System for Radioactive Waste of Classes W1, W2 and W3“.

ბირთვულ და რადიაციულ ობიექტზე, სადაც განთავსებულია რადიოაქტიური ნარჩენები და ბირთვული მასალები ან/და რადიოაქტიური წყაროები, დაცულობის სისტემის დანერგვა უნდა განხორციელდეს კონკრეტულ ობიექტებზე არსებული რადიოაქტიური წყაროების, ბირთვული მასალების ან/და რადიოაქტიური ნარჩენების ბირთვული დაცულობის ამ დადგენილებით განსაზღვრული მაქსიმალური დონის გათვალისწინებით.
At nuclear and radiation facilities where radioactive waste and nuclear materials and/or radioactive sources are located, the safety system shall be implemented taking into account the maximum level of nuclear safety of radioactive sources, nuclear materials and/or radioactive waste at specific facilities, as defined by this Ordinance.

In order to prevent illegal actions during transportation of nuclear materials, radioactive sources and/or radioactive waste, the nuclear safety system shall be designed taking into account a differentiated approach.

a) in the case of a minor radiological result, nuclear safety measures shall be taken taking into account on grounds of practical feasibility.

c) in case of a significant radiological result, enhanced nuclear safety measures shall be taken.
